Gary graduated in 1970 and attended Upper Iowa University for two years. Gary became a Teamster in 1972 working at Cargill Corn in Cedar Rapids, he was elected union steward in 1975 at the plant and was in involved in negotiations for ten years. Gary was hired to work at Local 238 in 1985, he was elected to the Executive Board in 1991 as a Trustee, then as Recording Secretary where he served until 2002. Gary was elected as Principal Officer/Secretary-Treasurer in 2005, he is currently serving his first term as Principal Officer of Local 238 and currently serves as a Public Employee Policy member for the Central Region.

Dale was hired as a business representative in June of 1994. Up to that time he was employed by Iowa County Secondary Roads where he spent twenty-three years. Dale is currently on the Iowa Work Preservation Fund Executive Board, the Assistant Construction Chairman (Iowa), and a board of director with Teamsters Local #238 Credit Union.

Gary started as a Teamster in 1978 at Fruehoff Corportaion in Fort Madison, he became Vice President of Local 218 in 1990, President and Principal Officer in 1993. Gary merged with Local 238 in 1996, he is currently President and Business Agent.

Kimbra was hired as a Teamsters Business Representative with Local 238 in October of 2000. She was previously an employee of the Central Lee Community School District as a bus driver starting in 1984. Kimbra and a fellow worker organized and brought the Teamsters Union into the school for the bus drivers in 1991. She served as a steward until she became a representative in 2000. Before becoming a Teamster she had been a member of another union since 1974.

Mike has been a Teamsters member since 1971. Mike was elected and served as Trustee for Local 394 in 1975, he was elected and served as Trustee, Recording Secretary, Secretary Treasurer or Vice President for Local 147 from 1985 until 2004. Mike was appointed full time Business Representative in 1989. He is currently serving as Vice President and full time Business Agent with Local 238, Mike is a member of the National Policy Committee for the International’s Bakery and Laundry Division and the Central Region’s Public Employee Division.

Rik is a first generation Teamster joining the Teamsters in 1994. He was elected Chief Steward in 1995 at Contract Transport Inc in Des Moines, IA., was appointed a Trustee of Local 147 in 1997 and hired as a Business Agent in 1999. Rik was elected as Recording Secretary in 2000 and currently holds that position with Local 238 after a merger. Rik founded the Iowa Teamsters Law Enforcement League in 2002 and currently sits on the Executive Board of the International Teamsters Law Enforcement League.

Lyle started working for P.I.E. in 1977 through 1986, he joined Local 147 in 1977. In February of 1986 Lyle started working for Yellow Transportation, in 2003 he became a steward at Yellow. In 2003 Lyle was elected as Secretary/Treasurer of Teamsters 147. After the merger of Local 147 into Local 238 he became a Business Agent

On January 1, 1995 Ron became Secretary-Treasurer of Local 828 in Mason City, Iowa. He has been a Teamster member since 1971 working at UPS and in 1985 worked at the Mason City School Systems until his election as principal officer. He has sat on State Dairy hearings and UPS and Freight hearings. He is currently the UPS State Chair and Tank Haul State Chairman and sits on the UPS Joint Area Committee and the UPS Central Region Negotiating Committee for Teamsters Local 238.

Arthur was hired as a Business Agent for Local 238 in September of 2006 to serve the membership in the Mason City office. Arthur was an employee of Grinnell College where he served as steward, before going to work for Local 90 as Administrative Assistant in March 2004. Arthur has been a Teamster since 1995.
